Who We Are

Miramar Home Care is a licensed Type B assisted living home in Converse, TX, offering compassionate, hands-on senior care in a warm, family environment. Our small six-resident setting allows us to focus on each individual personally — providing dignity, comfort, and safety that larger facilities can’t match.

We assist with:

• Support for memory challenges and cognitive decline

• Diabetic management

• Medication management and administration

• Mobility support

• Feeding assistance and cueing

• Laundry and personal clothing care

• Three home-cooked meals daily plus snacks

• Close communication with doctors, nurses, hospice, and family

• Personalized care plans tailored to each resident

• End-of-life support

• Personal care & ADLs (including grooming support)

Our Story

Miramar Home Care was created by Laura and Ruben Dorca, who both grew up in caregiving families and have spent over 20 years serving seniors. Caring for others is not just our work — it is our family tradition and the way we were raised.

Our home is not an institutional or industrialized facility. It is a real family home, warm, comfortable, and peaceful — the kind of place where residents feel like they are truly living in a home, not a center. Because we live here as a family, our residents naturally become part of our daily life. They share in the same warm environment, personal attention, and genuine connection that define who we are.

We believe seniors thrive when they are surrounded by people who know them, care for them, and treat them like family — and that is exactly what Miramar Home Care was built to provide.

Our Journey

​• 2001 — Laura’s parents opened their first licensed assisted living home in Seattle
• 2008 — Laura and Ruben moved to Texas, opened Miramar Home Care, and continued the family legacy
• Today — Run Miramar Home Care full-time, personally learning each resident's routines, preferences, and comfort needs, making their stay feel familiar, peaceful, and personalized.
